Al Fakhoora House in the Southern part of Al Rimal, Gaza, was destroyed in the ongoing crisis between Palestine and Israel after Revenge started by Hamas.

The shocking incident occurred early morning of October 10, 2023, a press statement said that the Education Above All Foundation was operated in that house.

The EAA foundation mentioned that the Al Fakhoora House was a safe space for students and families in an area that hosts civil society and international negotiators.

EAA’s Al Fakhoora plans was created in 2010 as a direct response to honor the victims of the UNRWA Al Fakhoora school in Gaza, which was fired by bombs while being used as a shelter by civilian IDPs.

EAA reiterates that collective punishment, reprisals and bombings and firings on civilians and
infrastructure are a severe violation of international humanitarian law.

The organization also stated "Schools and other civilian infrastructure, including those sheltering displaced people,
must never be attacked."

The foundation, Education Above All, supports calls to reach an immediate ceasefire and stop the violence both sides.

The school Al Fakhoora was opened in 2009 after the attacks in Gaza. It was named by the influence of the Jabaliya refugee camp, where many families took refuge during the conflict.

It launched its first projects, a diverse set of initiatives ranging from rebuilding educational facilities damaged in the war, providing psycho-social support for children and youth, establishing vocational subjects for learning residents with disabilities, and awarding higher study scholarships to marginalised youth, enabling them to pursue undergraduates studies and complete their higher education altogether.
