Forcepoint and Versa SD-WAN solutions simplify network management with zero-touch provisioning, earning top marks in CyberRatings.org's independent evaluation.

Austin, Texas, USA - August 26, 2024:

CyberRatings.org, a non-profit organization focused on cybersecurity product evaluation, has released the results of an independent test comparing two leading SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) solutions: Forcepoint FlexEdge Secure SD-WAN and Versa Networks Secure SD-WAN.

The analysis highlights the growing importance of SD-WAN technology in enabling businesses to streamline network management and reduce operational costs. SD-WAN simplifies branch office configuration by allowing remote configuration, eliminating the need for on-site engineers at every location. This "zero-touch provisioning" (ZTP) is a key feature offered by many vendors, significantly reducing deployment time and associated costs.

The CyberRatings.org test evaluated the performance of both SD-WAN solutions across various scenarios. The testing environment mimicked a real-world network setup, including a central headquarters, regional office, and retail branch. Each scenario assessed different factors including traffic type (voice, video, data), throughput, and network stability under simulated network impairments like packet loss and latency.

The evaluation process used a three-tier grading system ("AAA") based on key performance areas: Management, Routing & Access Control, Stability & Reliability, and finally, the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) for voice and video quality. The MOS score reflects the user experience during calls and video conferencing, with higher scores indicating better quality.

While both Forcepoint and Versa achieved strong scores across all categories, Forcepoint earned a slight edge in video quality with a MOS of 4.48, compared to Versa's 4.37. However, the difference is minimal and both solutions delivered exceptional voice quality with MOS scores close to the maximum limit of 4.41.

Vikram Phatak, CEO of CyberRatings.org, summarized the results by stating that both Forcepoint and Versa "proved to be highly efficient" and recommends them for businesses considering SD-WAN adoption.

This independent evaluation provides valuable insights for organizations looking to optimize their network infrastructure. While Forcepoint edged out Versa in video quality, both solutions offer strong performance across all key areas, making them compelling options for businesses seeking a reliable and efficient SD-WAN solution. As ZTP and remote management become increasingly important features, SD-WAN technology continues to empower businesses to achieve operational efficiency and cost reduction.
