Torrance, California, USA - August 30, 2024:

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) has announced that Team Honda HRC rider Jo Shimoda will compete in the seventh round of the D.I.D All Japan Motocross Championship. The event will take place at Off Road Village in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture, on September 28 and 29, just a week after the conclusion of the SuperMotocross series.

Shimoda, who previously finished fourth in the 2024 AMA Supercross 250SX West series and secured three overall podium finishes in the AMA Pro Motocross 250 series before his collarbone injury, will be riding the new 2025 CRF450R in Japan. With proper recovery, his collarbone should be healed enough to allow him to compete without any significant issues.

The Japanese native has prior experience in the JMX championship, having participated in the Meihan round with another manufacturer in 2022. During that competition, he achieved impressive 1-1 moto finishes in the 450 class.

Shimoda expressed his excitement about returning to his home country and racing in front of his supportive fans. He thanked them for their unwavering support and stated his intention to compete in Japan as often as possible.

Brandon Wilson, American Honda Manager of Racing & Advertising, also commented on Shimoda's return to Japan. He highlighted the importance of Japanese support for Honda's success and expressed confidence in Shimoda's ability to perform well aboard the new CRF450R. Wilson referenced Trey Canard's successful debut of the CR Electric Proto at the Saitama round last year as a positive example.

Shimoda's participation in the All Japan Motocross Championship will undoubtedly generate significant interest among Japanese fans. His return to his home country and his performance on the new CRF450R will be closely watched by motocross enthusiasts.
