Toronto, Canada – August 26, 2024:

Despite the windy conditions, experienced RC plane pilots weren't deterred from showcasing their skills at the Hub City Radio Control Club's demonstration event. Dozens of enthusiasts gathered on the tarmac to witness the intricate maneuvers and realistic models of these high-tech aircraft.

With prices ranging up to $10,000, these RC planes are far from simple toys. The club's event coordinator, Rick Reid, explained the thrill and risk associated with the hobby. "It's always a risk putting something like this up in the air," he said, acknowledging the potential for crashes that can damage these expensive machines.

The event featured a captivating reenactment of the WW2 battle between the Bismarck and model aircraft, complete with pyrotechnics. In addition to airplanes, model rockets and helicopters also took to the skies, delighting the audience.

Founded 56 years ago, the Hub City Radio Control Club boasts a dedicated facility just 15 minutes east of Saskatoon. The club encourages anyone interested in joining to visit their facility or inquire at a local hobby shop.
