Entergy Arkansas has been recognized for its commitment to energy efficiency with a regional award from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). The company's Entergy Solutions team was awarded the 2024 Energy Project of the Year for a project completed with City Corporation in Russellville, Arkansas.

The project, part of the Large Commercial & Industrial program, involved upgrades to the city's digester system and aeration basin. These upgrades focused on optimizing sludge handling and reducing energy consumption in the wastewater treatment process. By implementing efficient pumps, blowers, and controls, Entergy Solutions helped City Corporation achieve significant energy savings while maintaining effective treatment.

The project resulted in over 2.8 million kilowatt hours of electric savings and $288,000 in total cost savings. Entergy's incentives covered a portion of the project's cost, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting energy efficiency initiatives.

Taryn Childers, chief financial officer of City Corporation, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Entergy Arkansas. She noted that the project would help sustain the longevity of the city's systems and provide ongoing energy savings for customers.
