Gothenburg, Sweden - September 11, 2024:

Heart Aerospace, a Swedish aviation company, has made significant strides towards a more sustainable future with the unveiling of its first full-scale demonstrator aircraft. The ES-30, a 30-seat hybrid-electric airplane, is set to revolutionize regional air travel by offering unparalleled efficiency and reduced emissions.

The demonstrator, named Heart Experimental 1 (Heart X1), marks a major milestone in the development of the ES-30. It showcases Heart Aerospace's commitment to innovation and sustainability, as well as its ability to develop new technologies at a rapid pace. The aircraft will be used for rigorous testing, including ground trials and eventually flight tests.

The company's ambitious goal is to decarbonize aviation within the next 25 years, and the ES-30 is a key part of that strategy. By combining electric and hybrid propulsion, Heart Aerospace aims to reduce the environmental impact of air travel, while also improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.

The development of the ES-30 has been supported by both government grants and industry partnerships. The Swedish Innovation Agency, Vinnova, has provided funding for the Heart X1 project, highlighting the importance of government-industry collaboration in advancing sustainable technologies.

Heart Aerospace is also focused on developing a state-of-the-art manufacturing process for the ES-30. By leveraging the latest technologies in composite manufacturing and product lifecycle management, the company aims to create a highly efficient and sustainable production line.

The next step in the development of the ES-30 is the building of a pre-production prototype, the Heart X2. This aircraft will further refine the design and production methods based on the lessons learned from the Heart X1. The Heart X2 is scheduled for a hybrid flight in 2026, demonstrating the capabilities of the company's Independent Hybrid propulsion system.

Heart Aerospace's progress has been recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which awarded the company a $4.1 million grant to develop the management system for the hybrid-electric propulsion. This funding will help to accelerate the development of the ES-30 and bring it closer to commercialization.

The unveiling of the Heart X1 is a significant milestone for both Heart Aerospace and the aviation industry. It demonstrates the potential for sustainable aviation and the growing interest in developing greener technologies. As Heart Aerospace continues to progress, the future of air travel may be on the cusp of a major transformation.
