Kurigram Government Girls High School's website has been compromised in a cyber attack allegedly carried out by an Indian hacker group. The attack, discovered when the Bangladeshi school reopened after a recent national movement, has disrupted access to important information for students and teachers.
School officials became aware of the hack when students reported unusual content on the website. Upon investigation, the website was found to be defaced with the message "HACKED BY INDIAN CYBER DAYAN SQUAD." Additionally, the hacker group posted a warning to the Bangladeshi government.
P-Soft Corporation, the company responsible for developing and maintaining the website, has been informed of the attack and is working to restore control. However, efforts to regain access have been ongoing for roughly three weeks.
Mostafizur Rahman, Chairman of P-Soft Corporation, confirmed the attack's origin and stated that it is part of a larger wave of cyberattacks targeting Bangladeshi websites. He claims that over a thousand websites, including around 70 maintained by his company, were compromised during the recent student movement in Bangladesh.
The incident highlights the growing issue of cyber security threats faced by educational institutions. The disruption caused by this attack underscores the importance of robust cyber defenses for schools and other organizations that rely heavily on online resources.
While P-Soft Corporation assures a swift resolution, regaining control of the website and implementing stronger security measures are crucial to ensure uninterrupted access to essential information for students and staff at Kurigram Girls High School.
