MongoDB for Academia expands in India, partnering with AICTE and edtech platforms to provide students with the skills needed to build AI-powered applications. Join the program and gain a competitive edge in the tech industry.
Bengaluru, India - September 10, 2024:
MongoDB, a leading global provider of multi-cloud developer data platform, has announced the expansion of its MongoDB for Academia program in India. Through partnerships with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education, and edtech platforms SmartInternz and GeeksforGeeks, MongoDB aims to equip Indian students with the skills needed to build modern, AI-powered applications.
The AICTE partnership will provide over 150,000 Indian students with access to virtual internships and MongoDB Atlas training. This initiative is aligned with the government's Skill India Initiative and aims to bridge the gap between the growing demand for skilled developers and the available talent pool.
In addition, MongoDB's collaboration with GeeksforGeeks will make the MongoDB Developer Learning Path available to its 25 million registered users. This will provide students with a comprehensive curriculum to learn MongoDB and develop the skills necessary for success in the technology industry.
The MongoDB for Academia program offers various resources to support students and educators, including student training, curriculum materials, free MongoDB technology credits, and certifications. These resources are crucial for addressing the shortage of developers with advanced skills in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, CEO of Anuvadini AI and Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE, emphasized the importance of equipping Indian developers with the right skills to capitalize on the opportunities presented by AI and modern technologies. He expressed excitement about the partnership with MongoDB to make this possible.
Amarender Katkam, Founder and CEO of SmartBridge and SmartInternz, highlighted the demand for modern database technologies like MongoDB among students on their platform. He emphasized the goal of equipping students with in-demand skills to make them job-ready candidates for India's organizations.
MongoDB for Academia has made significant progress in its goal of upskilling 500,000 students. To date, it has established partnerships with over 200 educational institutions, onboarded hundreds of educators, trained over 100,000 students, and facilitated over 450,000 hours of learning.
Sachin Chawla, Area Vice President, India at MongoDB, expressed pride in the work of the MongoDB for Academia team in empowering Indian developers and supporting the next generation of tech talent. He highlighted the company's commitment to India's developer community.
The expansion of MongoDB for Academia to include partnerships with AICTE and GeeksforGeeks further strengthens MongoDB's position as a leader in providing educational resources and training to developers in India. This initiative will play a crucial role in addressing the skills gap and driving innovation in the country's technology sector.
