Beijing, China - September 08, 2024:

Ningbo Polytechnic (NBPT) has once again demonstrated its global reach and commitment to nurturing skilled professionals. A Zimbabwean student, MAKWITI TAPIWA MPOFU, has secured the top prize at the Africa Tech Challenge Season IX (ATC), showcasing the institution's prowess in producing highly qualified talent.

MAKWITI's victory at the prestigious ATC competition underscores NBPT's commitment to providing comprehensive and practical education. The student underwent rigorous training at the college, encompassing a wide range of skills, from basic drawing to advanced programming. The "1+1.5+0.5" program, a collaborative initiative between China and Zimbabwe, has proven to be highly effective in equipping students with the knowledge and abilities necessary to excel in the field of mechatronics.

NBPT's success in fostering international talent is also attributed to its active engagement in global cooperation. The institution has been a strong supporter of the Belt and Road Initiative, forging partnerships with Chinese enterprises expanding overseas. Through these collaborations, NBPT has facilitated cultural exchanges, promoted technical sharing, and exported skilled professionals to meet the growing demands of international markets.

The college's China AID Vocational Training Center has played a pivotal role in its global outreach. The center has trained over 4,500 students from various regions, including Asia, Africa, and Latin America. This initiative has not only provided opportunities for students to acquire valuable skills but has also strengthened ties between China and developing countries.

MAKWITI's achievement highlights the potential of international collaboration in education. NBPT's success in nurturing skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds demonstrates the power of partnerships between institutions and countries. As the world continues to become increasingly interconnected, such collaborations will be essential in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
