Paris, France - September 14, 2024:
Huawei and UNESCO have announced the launch of the second phase of their Technology-enabled Open Schools for All initiative. This ambitious project aims to transform education in Brazil, Egypt, and Thailand through the implementation of digital open school models.
Building upon the successes of Phase I, which was conducted in Egypt, Ethiopia, and Ghana, Phase II will focus on providing flexible, inclusive, and high-quality learning environments. By combining technology innovations with human capabilities, the initiative seeks to create a more resilient and effective education system.
The implementation stage of the project follows a careful design process that was launched earlier this year to identify the specific needs and priorities of each country. The insights gained during this phase will inform the development and implementation of tailored digital open school models.
The announcement was made at the Technology-enabled Open Schools for All Forum, hosted by UNESCO and Huawei. The forum provided an opportunity to discuss the lessons learned from Phase I and explore the potential of digital open schools to address educational challenges.
As the initiative progresses, it is expected to have a significant impact on the education systems of Brazil, Egypt, and Thailand. By leveraging technology to create innovative and inclusive learning environments, the partnership between UNESCO and Huawei is paving the way for a brighter future for students and educators alike.
