Berlin, Germany --- October 13, 2024:

U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Germany on October 18, according to German government sources. Biden had originally planned to visit last week, but the trip was postponed due to Hurricane Milton’s impact on the United States.

The revised schedule, reported by Spiegel magazine, includes meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. While not a formal state visit, Biden's trip will focus on ongoing collaborative efforts between the two nations, particularly regarding global security issues.

The agenda for the visit is expected to include discussions on the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Previously, Biden’s visit was planned to coincide with a meeting of the Ramstein group—a coalition of countries providing military aid to Ukraine. However, the hurricane-related delay altered those plans, and the Ramstein meeting will no longer be part of Biden’s stay.

This visit comes as the U.S. and Germany continue to navigate their responses to pressing global conflicts, with both leaders expected to address further support for Ukraine amid ongoing tensions.
