Houston, Texas, USA – October 23, 2024:

CITGO Petroleum Corporation has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by raising a record-breaking $1,000,000 at its annual golf tournament in Houston. This significant achievement marks a new milestone in the company's long-standing partnership with MDA.

The tournament, which attracted nearly 350 golfers, was a resounding success, contributing significantly to the overall fundraising efforts. In addition to the golf tournament, CITGO has organized various other MDA-related events throughout the year, including refinery and terminal golf tournaments and bowling events. These combined efforts have resulted in an impressive total of $2.5 million raised for MDA through October.

According to Karl Schmidt, CITGO Vice President of Supply and Marketing, the funds raised will be allocated to vital MDA programs, including research, care centers, summer camp, and other services that benefit individuals with neuromuscular diseases. Schmidt emphasized the company's deep belief in MDA's mission and its continued support for the organization.

CITGO's partnership with MDA spans 38 years, and with the generous support of its customers, business partners, and employees, the company has raised an impressive $272 million since 1986. This record-breaking fundraising achievement further solidifies CITGO's position as a dedicated advocate for MDA and its mission to find a cure for muscular dystrophy.
