Montreal, Canada – October 24, 2024:
Hithium, a global leader in energy storage solutions, has announced a significant partnership with EVLO Energy Storage Inc., a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec, to provide high-density battery energy storage systems (BESS) for the North American market. This collaboration marks a major milestone in Hithium's expansion and demonstrates its commitment to delivering innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
Under the terms of the Master Supply Agreement (MSA), Hithium will supply EVLO with 5MWh DC blocks, which are made up of 314Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. These high-density blocks will be integrated into EVLO's SYNERGY BESS, offering a powerful and reliable energy storage solution for utilities and independent power producers.
The partnership has already yielded tangible results with the successful commissioning of a 5MWh, 20-foot DC block at EVLO's testing facility. This project is the first of its kind in North America to utilize Hithium's 5MWh DC block in a 20-foot container, showcasing the product's efficiency and versatility.
Mizhi Zhang, Hithium's President of Global Business, emphasized the strategic importance of the North American market and the company's alignment with EVLO's commitment to advanced energy storage solutions. "By providing comprehensive technical support and a 25-year warranty, we aim to cultivate local expertise and expand our network in North America," Zhang stated.
