Broe Real Estate Group has completed the construction of a new facility in Southern Indiana that will house the U.S. Census Bureau's National Processing Center. The facility is expected to provide a long-term home for the bureau and a boost to the local economy.
Charlestown, IN, USA – October 14, 2024:
The U.S. Census Bureau has found a new home in Southern Indiana, thanks to a long-term lease with Broe Real Estate Group (BREG). The new facility will consolidate the bureau's operations in the region and provide a boost to the local economy.
The 340,000-square-foot facility, located at 1751 Penny Martin Lane in River Ridge Commerce Center, will house the bureau's National Processing Center. This move will retain approximately 600 jobs in the area for the next 20 years.
"We are thrilled to welcome the U.S. Census Bureau to our community," said Charlestown Mayor Treva Hodges. "This is a major win for Southern Indiana, and we are excited to see the positive impact that the bureau will have on our region."
The new facility is part of BREG's ongoing development of River Ridge Commerce Center, a multi-billion-dollar economic engine in Southern Indiana. The center has been attracting major employers to the area for years, and the addition of the U.S. Census Bureau is a significant milestone.
"We are proud to be able to provide the U.S. Census Bureau with a new, state-of-the-art facility," said Dean Brown, Senior Vice President at BREG. "This project is a testament to the continued growth and development of River Ridge Commerce Center."
The U.S. Census Bureau has been a major employer in Southern Indiana for over 60 years. The new facility will allow the bureau to consolidate its operations from multiple buildings into a single location, improving efficiency and productivity.
