Boone, North Carolina, USA – October 12, 2024:

Samaritan's Purse, a renowned international Christian relief organization, is spearheading the largest civilian airlift operation in the history of the United States in response to the devastating Hurricane Helene. The organization has successfully executed over 210 air missions, delivering essential supplies to isolated communities in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.

Utilizing a diverse fleet of aircraft, including helicopters and fixed-wing planes, Samaritan's Purse is providing vital aid to areas cut off by floodwaters, mudslides, and damaged infrastructure. Generators, fuel, heaters, blankets, medical kits, food, water, and Starlink satellite internet connectivity are among the critical supplies being airlifted to those in need.

The massive operation has been made possible through the collaboration of various entities, including private businesses, individuals, non-profit organizations, the North Carolina Army National Guard, and the U.S. Army. Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse, expressed his gratitude for the collective effort, stating, "This is unprecedented. It's a testimony to what can be done when people work together. It's nothing short of a miracle."

In addition to the airlift missions, Samaritan's Purse has deployed Disaster Relief Units to affected regions, providing on-the-ground support to impacted communities. Volunteers have been actively involved in mudding out flooded homes, clearing debris, removing downed trees, and tarping damaged roofs.

Samaritan's Purse has a long-standing commitment to addressing both the physical and spiritual needs of individuals in crisis situations. The organization's response to Hurricane Helene exemplifies its dedication to providing aid and hope to those affected by disasters.
