Barguna, Bangladesh --- November 12, 2024:

A wave of digital innovation is sweeping across Bangladesh, fueled by its tech-savvy youth. USAID's "Amio Jitte Chai" (I Want to Win) campaign is at the forefront of this movement, empowering young people to shape their nation's future through technology and civic engagement.

The recent event held at the Bangabandhu Smriti Complex in Barguna highlighted the potential of youth to drive positive change. Monir Hossen Kamal, President of the Barguna Shocheton Nagorik Committee (SONAK), emphasized the role of technology in amplifying youth voices. "Social media platforms and online tools have given young people a powerful platform to express their opinions and mobilize for social causes," he said.

Ranju Ara Shipu, Special Public Prosecutor, underscored the importance of digital literacy in combating social issues like drug abuse. "By providing young people with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world responsibly, we can empower them to make informed decisions and resist negative influences," she explained.

The "Amio Jitte Chai" campaign leverages technology to create a vibrant and inclusive platform for youth participation. The campaign's website, Amio Jitte Chai, serves as a hub for online discussions, idea sharing, and community building. Through interactive features and social media engagement, the campaign aims to reach a wider audience and inspire young people to take action.

The event in Barguna showcased the diverse talents and aspirations of young Bangladeshis. Through theater performances, quizzes, and video message competitions, participants demonstrated their creativity and critical thinking skills. The winners of these competitions were recognized for their contributions and encouraged to continue their involvement in civic activities.

Beyond the event, the "Amio Jitte Chai" campaign is working to connect youth with policymakers and decision-makers. By facilitating dialogue and providing opportunities for youth to share their perspectives, the campaign aims to influence policy decisions that directly impact their lives.

As Bangladesh embraces the digital age, its youth are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the nation's future. Through initiatives like "Amio Jitte Chai," USAID is empowering young people to harness the power of technology to drive innovation, promote social justice, and build a brighter future for Bangladesh.
