Volta Energy Solutions Hungary (VESH) has initiated steps to obtain The Copper Mark, a prestigious assurance framework recognized globally within the copper industry for stringent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. This move aligns with the company’s broader ESG goals and reflects the increasing demand for sustainable practices in the copper and battery materials sector, particularly within Europe.
Established in 2019, The Copper Mark sets a high bar for ethical and sustainable operations across the copper supply chain, from ore mining to end-product sales. Its evaluation framework is comprehensive, covering environmental protection, human rights, and ethical management. Endorsement by The Copper Mark signifies a company’s adherence to these standards and opens access to benefits like inclusion in the "LME-Approved Brands" list. This list, maintained by the London Metal Exchange (LME), indicates to global markets that listed companies follow responsible sourcing practices, fostering trust and expanding market opportunities. Currently, over 360 brands across 55 countries are certified under the framework for various metals.
