Huawei has successfully concluded the DigiSchool 2024 project in Morocco, a significant step towards enhancing digital literacy and skills among the nation's youth. This initiative, aligned with the government's education reform roadmap, aimed to bridge the digital divide and equip students with the necessary tools for the 21st century.
The DigiSchool project, a collaborative effort between the Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and Huawei Morocco, encompassed a series of training programs, hackathons, and bootcamps. Over 2,650 students and 265 teachers across 12 regions benefited from hands-on experience in AI, VR, web development, robotics, coding, and digital literacy.
"DigiSchool emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital skills and solidifying the public-private partnership," stated David Li, Managing Director of Huawei Morocco. "We are committed to supporting Morocco's vision of quality and inclusive digital education."
The project culminated in technology bootcamps in Fez, Marrakech, and Agadir, where students presented their innovative ICT solutions to a panel of judges. The success of DigiSchool 2024 underscores the Moroccan government's dedication to digitalizing education and fostering a digitally inclusive society.
This initiative aligns with Huawei's global TECH4ALL program, which focuses on empowering communities through digital technology. Similar DigiSchool projects are currently underway in various countries, including Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Chile, and China.
