Beijing, China – December 9, 2024:
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has announced plans to launch its second electric vehicle, the YU7 SUV, in June or July of next year. The company's foray into the competitive Chinese auto market has been met with significant success, leading to increased demand for its electric vehicles.
The YU7, a pure electric SUV, will share a similar design language with Xiaomi's first EV, the SU7 sedan. It is expected to offer impressive performance, with a top speed of 253 km/h (157 mph) and powerful batteries supplied by CATL.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun emphasized the importance of extensive testing for the YU7, stating that early disclosure of key specifications will allow for a more comprehensive evaluation process. The company's aggressive expansion into the EV market is evident in its recent upward revision of its delivery target for 2023 to 130,000 units.
Xiaomi's entry into the Chinese EV market has garnered significant attention, particularly with the launch of the SU7 series, which has been praised for its stylish design and competitive pricing. The company's commitment to innovation and high-performance vehicles has positioned it as a formidable player in the industry.
As China's automotive market continues to grow, fueled by government incentives and increasing consumer demand for electric vehicles, Xiaomi is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. The launch of the YU7 SUV is expected to further solidify the company's position as a leading force in the electric vehicle segment.
