Dhaka, Bangladesh — January 18, 2025:
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at United International University (UIU) inaugurated the much-anticipated "UIU CSE Fest 2025" on Friday at its campus in United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka. The two-day event (Friday- Saturday) brings together inter-college and university students from across Bangladesh to participate in a variety of competitions including the Blockchain Olympiad, ICT Olympiad, Project Show, Line Following Robot (LFR), and a Programming Contest.
The inaugural ceremony, held at 10:00 AM, was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Hon'ble Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division, was present as the Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by UIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia.
Dr. Suman Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE and Organizing Secretary of the fest, delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nurul Huda, Head of the CSE Department, expressed his gratitude through the vote of thanks.
A total of 1,500 students from approximately 80 public and private universities and 30 colleges nationwide are participating in the fest. With a prize pool of BDT 11,00,000, the event aims to inspire innovation and skill development among students in the fields of Computer Science and ICT.
During his address, Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan emphasized the importance of leveraging technical education for societal welfare. He encouraged students to use technology to address national challenges while upholding human values.
Special Guest Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury applauded UIU for organizing the fest at a national level and assured continued support from the ICT Division for such initiatives. He urged students to enhance their technological skills to stay competitive in the global arena.
The event has drawn the presence of faculty members, students, government officials, ICT experts, journalists, and other distinguished guests, making it a vibrant platform for collaboration and innovation.
The fest continues until Saturday, promising an exciting lineup of events and competitions that showcase the creativity and technical expertise of the country's young talents.
