Dhaka, Bangladesh – January 23, 2025:

Grameenphone, Bangladesh's leading telecommunications service provider, has extended its partnership with Ericsson to drive innovation through AI-powered solutions. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency and deliver personalized customer experiences. 

The agreement, signed by David Hagerbro, Head of Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, and Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, will see Grameenphone leverage AI and advanced technologies to launch innovative services faster, improve service availability, and accelerate digital transformation over the next six years. 

This partnership builds upon the success of Ericsson Mediation, which currently processes over six billion records daily for Grameenphone. By expanding its Business and Operations Support System (OSS/BSS) capabilities with solutions like Ericsson Order Care and Catalog Manager, Grameenphone will modernize service delivery and enhance its 5G readiness. Ericsson will also provide IT Managed Services, supported by AI-driven tools, to ensure seamless operations and improved efficiency.

The signing ceremony was attended by Hakon Arald Gulbrandsen, Ambassador of Norway to Bangladesh, Nicolas Weeks, Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh, and Major General (retd.) Md Emdad Ul Bari, Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
