London —January 18, 2025:

Southwest housebuilder, Summerfield Homes, is celebrating Energy Saving Week (January 17–23) by showcasing the benefits of its energy-efficient building methods. As energy costs continue to rise, Summerfield Homes is helping buyers save through energy-saving features integrated into every new build. These include double-glazing, door insulation, low-energy lighting, counterflow heat exchangers, heat pumps, and electric car charging points.

Philip Morgan, Sales Director at Summerfield Homes, shared the story of a customer who recently moved into a three-bedroom semi-detached home at Killams Park, Taunton. The customer, who had previously lived in an older, poorly insulated two-bedroom home, noticed an immediate difference in energy costs.

“The previous house was heated solely by electricity, which was expensive,” said Philip. “In contrast, her new home is consistently warm and heats up quickly. She’s now paying around £80 a month for energy, compared to over £170 in her old property.”

According to the Home Builders Federation (HBF), new home buyers save an average of £180 per month or £2,200 annually on energy bills. This figure is expected to increase as the Future Homes Standard regulations, set for 2025, come into effect. In addition to financial savings, new builds are much more environmentally friendly, emitting just a third of the carbon of typical older homes.

Ed Khodabandehloo, Managing Director at Summerfield Homes, emphasized the company’s commitment to reducing both running costs for homeowners and its environmental impact. "We are actively working to create energy-efficient homes, including a net-zero development of 26 homes in Middlezoy," he said.

By integrating modern energy-saving technology, Summerfield Homes continues to lead the way in sustainable, cost-effective housing solutions.
