Taipei, Taiwan --- January 13, 2025:

Following devastating earthquakes and typhoons in 2024, Hualien, Taiwan, is actively rebuilding and revitalizing its tourism sector. VIVOTEK, a leading global security solution provider, has played a crucial role in these efforts by organizing the 4th "Safety Map" sustainability event in Dachen New Village.

This year's event focused on enhancing safety and promoting tourism within Dachen New Village, a historically significant community home to over 400 households. As Dachen Island residents celebrate the 75th anniversary of their migration from Zhejiang, China, to Taiwan in 2025, the village aims to attract visitors while addressing challenges like an aging population and environmental risks.

The "Safety Map" initiative involved a collaborative approach, bringing together local residents, government officials, and the VIVOTEK team. Through workshops and community engagement, the team identified key safety concerns, such as the protection of cultural sites, the well-being of elderly residents, and the need for a safe and welcoming environment for tourists.

VIVOTEK proposed a range of customized security solutions, including AI-powered cameras for real-time monitoring and stranger identification, improvements to the Ruan Bi Zhenjun Temple to ensure accessibility for all visitors, enhanced lighting systems to improve nighttime visibility and deter crime, and initiatives to foster intergenerational interaction and strengthen community bonds.

This collaborative effort, involving residents, local authorities, and VIVOTEK, exemplifies how technology can be effectively utilized to enhance community safety and promote sustainable tourism. By addressing the unique needs of Dachen New Village, the "Safety Map" initiative aims to contribute to the region's recovery and revitalization while fostering a safer and more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
