Washington, USA — January 27, 2025:
If you’ve ever wished for the ability to manage multiple WhatsApp accounts on your iPhone, the wait might soon be over. A recent update, rolled out through Apple’s TestFlight beta program, hints that this feature could soon be available for all iPhone users.
Android users may be quick to point out that this has already been possible since 2023, but the feature's arrival on iPhone is still a welcome development, even if it’s a bit delayed.
Setting up multiple accounts on a single device will be a straightforward process, though you’ll need either a second phone number or a phone capable of supporting dual SIMs or eSIM. According to WABetaInfo, which first reported the feature, this update removes the need for multiple devices or parallel apps, simplifying account management and boosting convenience for users.
iPhone users will be able to add a second WhatsApp account using two methods: either by setting up the device as a primary account or by scanning a QR code to link a secondary account as a companion. Each account will remain separate within the app, with distinct notifications, chats, backups, and settings, allowing users to keep everything organized.
Previously, users had to rely on the WhatsApp Business app to manage multiple accounts, but this new feature will let you handle both personal and professional communications in the main WhatsApp app, eliminating the need to toggle between apps. Whether for work-life balance, managing different businesses, or creating separate profiles for various social circles, the feature offers a convenient solution.
