Astana, Kazakhstan – February 2025:
AgiBot, a global leader in AI and robotics integration, has announced plans to establish a Robotics and AI Solutions Enterprise in Kazakhstan. This initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the Digital Almaty 2025 forum between Zhaslan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry, and the leadership of AgiBot, ewpartners, and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation.
As part of this partnership, AgiBot will create a joint venture in Kazakhstan dedicated to the production and implementation of robotics and AI solutions. Since its founding in February 2023, the company has specialized in developing general-purpose humanoid robots for both industrial and household applications. By December 2024, AgiBot had already produced 1,000 robots at its facility in Shanghai, marking significant progress in its manufacturing capabilities.
Kazakhstan has been selected as the first country in the region to localize production and serve as an export hub for these advanced technologies. A key component of this initiative is the establishment of a "data factory" in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry. This facility will focus on training robotic systems, further enhancing their efficiency and adaptability.
Minister Zhaslan Madiev emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that a partnership with a company as advanced as AgiBot represents a major milestone in the development of the robotics industry in Kazakhstan. He highlighted that localizing robot production within the country would not only strengthen expertise in the field but also lay the foundation for a national center of excellence in robotics.
The project is expected to be financed with the participation of private equity fund ewpartners and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation. In the near future, AgiBot, in collaboration with its partners, plans to establish a joint research and development center, as well as an exhibition showcasing its prototype robots at the Alem AI International Center for Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, the company intends to work closely with Kazakhstani universities to launch research projects and train students in robot assembly, further supporting the growth of the local AI and robotics ecosystem.
This initiative marks a significant step for Kazakhstan, positioning the country as a key player in the global robotics and AI industry while driving technological advancements and innovation.
