Youths to Build New Bangladesh Using Technology, Says Former State Minister for Education

Dhaka, Bangladesh — February 12, 2025:

At a workshop titled "Fostering Innovation and Technology" at Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology (ADUST), former State Minister for Education Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, the chief guest, emphasized that talent transcends borders, moving freely across countries. He praised the nation’s youth for their pivotal role in liberating Bangladesh and expressed confidence that they will use modern technology to build a new Bangladesh.

The workshop, held at the university auditorium on Monday at 3 p.m., was chaired by ADUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahangir Alam. Dr. Milon, also the Director of ADUST Skill Development Institute, was joined by Mohammad Shamsul Alam Liton, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Mohammad Kamruzzaman Litu, Member Secretary of the Board, as honorary and special guests, respectively.

The main speaker, Manjur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development Project, elaborated on the significance of the Innovation Hub. He shared his personal experiences to inspire the university students and assured them of government support for the creation of an Innovation Hub at ADUST.

Dr. Milon stressed the importance of ICT training in combating unemployment and encouraged young people to pursue entrepreneurship through the Innovation Hub. He also urged the university's ICT and Agribusiness departments, among others, to facilitate entrepreneurial opportunities.

Mohammad Shamsul Alam Liton highlighted that ADUST plans to expand the Skill Development Institute (SDI) across seven departments and gradually to the upazila level. This expansion aims to establish industrial links and empower the 3.5 million unemployed individuals in the country.

Senior Consultant of the ICT Division’s A2i Project, Khandaker Ishtiaq Mahmud, emphasized the role of ChatGPT and self-learning in joining the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The workshop was moderated by Majid Ishtiaq Ahmed, Chair of the Robotics and Automation Department, and welcomed by University Registrar Mohammad Abdul Qayum Sardar.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Zahangir Alam concluded the event by thanking all attendees and declaring the workshop closed.
