London, UK — February 11, 2025:

Hyundai Motor Group has signed a new scholarship agreement with SOAS University of London to help nurture African talent, offering financial support and opportunities for emerging leaders. The initiative is part of the Group's ongoing efforts to foster global change and empower students to address pressing global challenges.

As part of the partnership, the Hyundai Motor Group has helped establish the Development Leadership Dialogue (DLD) Institute, a platform for discussions among global development leaders, and the Centre for Sustainable Structural Transformation (CSST), a research hub focused on addressing climate-related structural challenges. These initiatives aim to deepen understanding of Africa’s development needs.

Starting in 2025, the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarship will be awarded annually to five master's and doctoral students from Africa. The scholarship will cover both tuition and living expenses, providing the scholars with transformative support. Upon completing their studies, recipients will also be invited to engage in various networking events and seminars hosted by Hyundai.

Heung-Soo Kim, Executive Vice President at Hyundai Motor Group, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that it aligns with the Group's commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive sustainable development across the African continent. This partnership seeks to cultivate a model of collaboration that supports Africa's future growth and progress.
