Paris, France — February 10, 2025:

French President Emmanuel Macron has embraced artificial intelligence in a unique way, using AI-generated deepfake videos of himself to promote a major technology summit in Paris. The two-day AI Action Summit, set to begin on Monday, will bring together world leaders, with India co-chairing the event.

In a playful Instagram post, Macron shared AI-created clips depicting him in different scenarios. One video shows him dancing to the 1980s French hit Voyage Voyage by Desireless, while another places him in a spy comedy alongside actor Jean Dujardin. A third clip even features him rapping and showing off dance moves reminiscent of French rapper Nekfeu.

The real Macron appeared amused by the deepfake clips, saying, “Nicely done. It’s pretty well done, it made me laugh.” The post has garnered over 73,000 likes as of Sunday afternoon.

The AI Action Summit will focus on global AI regulations, ethical concerns, and technological advancements. By using deepfake videos, Macron has not only promoted the event but also demonstrated the potential and risks of AI-generated media.
