Dubai, UAE — February 24, 2025:
Parkin PJSC, the largest operator of paid public parking facilities in Dubai, has launched a new mobile app designed to streamline the parking experience for residents and visitors. Available for both iOS and Android devices, the Parkin app offers multiple innovative features aimed at making parking easier and more efficient for Dubai motorists.
Among its standout features is the ‘park now, pay later’ option, which allows users to park without immediately paying, providing greater flexibility. The app also includes a real-time parking finder that helps users quickly locate available spaces, and a convenient payment system for parking fines, including the ability to dispute charges and request refunds.
“The Parkin app is designed to put the user in control, offering an intuitive and seamless experience,” said Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin. “By improving parking processes and supporting Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, the app contributes to the development of a sustainable, connected city.”
To use the app, users can register through their UAE Pass, RTA account, or Parkin registration form. Once logged in, they can easily pay for parking at both public and private locations, including multi-storey car parks. The app also integrates parking permits directly into users’ device wallets, simplifying parking management.
One of the key features of the app is its automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) system. This technology allows the app to automatically detect vehicles upon entry and exit, linking users’ plate numbers to their registered payment methods for automatic fee deduction. This feature is available at Parkin-operated multi-storey car parks and select partner locations, such as Majid Al Futtaim’s malls, including Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre.
In addition, the app offers users the ability to manage their digital wallet, top-up balances, and access seasonal parking subscription services. Future plans for the app include the addition of electric vehicle (EV) charging payments, enabling users to pay for both parking and charging in a single transaction.
Parkin is also exploring additional services such as car washing, mobile refuelling, engine oil changes, and vehicle maintenance at select parking locations, further enhancing the parking experience for customers.
Originally part of Dubai Municipality, Dubai’s parking operations became part of the RTA in 2005. The creation of Parkin PJSC was announced in 2023, with the company listing on the Dubai Financial Market in March of the same year. In the first nine months of 2024, Parkin processed around 95 million parking transactions, reflecting the growing demand for efficient, tech-driven solutions in urban mobility.
