SGS, the global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, has achieved a significant milestone by securing its fourth consecutive contract with the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) for pre-verification of conformity (PVoC) services. The contract, signed on February 21, 2025, will go into effect on March 1, 2025, for a duration of 36 months.
This renewal highlights SGS’s longstanding commitment to ensuring the quality and compliance of products exported to Tanzania. The company’s expertise will continue to support the smooth entry of goods into the Tanzanian market by verifying that they meet the relevant standards, enabling fast clearance and safeguarding consumer safety.

Under the new agreement, SGS will provide PVoC services across multiple regions, including the United Kingdom, India, South Korea, the UAE, and Southern Africa, among others. Exporters will be able to follow specific routes for product conformity based on risk and compliance history, including options for unregistered, registered, and licensed products.
SGS’s global network of over 2,500 laboratories and business facilities ensures that products meet the stringent regulatory requirements of Tanzania. This latest contract affirms SGS’s role as a trusted partner in international trade, helping to maintain the highest standards of product safety and quality in the marketplace.
