Johannesburg, South Africa — February 16, 2025:

Sigenergy, a leading innovator in energy storage, showcased its cutting-edge commercial and industrial (C&I) solutions at an exclusive event held on February 14 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The event brought together over 350 industry professionals, including distributors, installers, and energy leaders, to discuss the role of energy storage in solving Africa’s growing energy challenges.

President and CTO of Sigenergy, Samuel Zhang, highlighted the company's rapid expansion and success, noting that Sigenergy had become the fastest-growing inverter company in history, with significant support from partners like Herholdt's Group, South Africa's largest distributor. “In just one year, we’ve become the preferred choice for distributors in regions including the UK, Ireland, South Africa, and the U.S.," Zhang said.

Sigenergy’s innovative solutions are making waves in the region, particularly in South Africa, where the company captured nearly 10% of the market share after achieving 100 MWh in orders within just seven months. A 2024 global customer survey revealed that about 90% of homeowners and installers have expressed satisfaction with Sigenergy's products.

A major highlight of the event was an on-site demonstration at South Ocean Electric Wire, a cable manufacturer in Alberton, South Africa, which had been severely impacted by frequent load-shedding. With the installation of 96 SigenStor units, providing 4.1 MWh of capacity, the factory can now run smoothly without interruptions. The solution also allows for a seamless transition from grid to off-grid power, providing up to five hours of backup during power outages.

Sigenergy’s SigenStor system includes the Energy Gateway C1200, which delivers 1200 kW of power and features the only large-scale gateways available in Africa. The company also introduced the SigenStack, a modular energy storage solution ideal for large-scale C&I and utility applications, with capacities of several hundred megawatts.

In addition to hardware advancements, Sigenergy continues to innovate with its mySigen App, offering regular updates and an enhanced energy management experience for installers and users.

As Sigenergy continues to expand and introduce new products, the company's role in shaping Africa’s energy future remains pivotal, providing sustainable, reliable, and efficient energy solutions across the continent.
