Chon Buri, Thailand — February 9, 2025:

Thai immigration authorities have revoked the visas of 12 Chinese nationals and permanently blacklisted them after uncovering an illegal online money lending operation at a luxury pool villa near Pattaya.

A raid conducted on Friday morning by local police and Chon Buri Immigration officers targeted the villa in tambon Nong Pla Lai, Bang Lamung district. Authorities revealed that the suspects had previously operated from Dubai before relocating to Thailand.

The 12 individuals now face legal action for failing to notify immigration authorities of their residence and working without permission. Additionally, two of them were charged with overstaying their visas. All suspects have been transferred to Bang Lamung police station for further investigation.

Pol Maj Gen Chairit Anurit, acting commander of Immigration Division 3, confirmed on Saturday that he had instructed Pol Col Naphasphong Khosittasuriyamanee, head of the Chon Buri Immigration Office, to revoke their visas and enforce a lifetime entry ban.

This crackdown aligns with the Thai government’s policy of targeting Chinese nationals engaged in illicit businesses within Thailand and neighboring countries, Pol Maj Gen Chairit stated. Authorities continue to tighten measures to prevent similar operations from taking root in the country.
