Budapest, Hungary – February 22, 2025:
Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. ("Zoomlion") has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art intelligent aerial work platform factory in Hungary. The initiative was formalized through an agreement signed on February 20 and was unveiled at a press conference attended by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The upcoming factory will be located in Tatabánya, a strategically significant site at the crossroads of major highway networks. This positioning will enable the facility to serve as a crucial logistics hub connecting Eastern and Western Europe, further strengthening Zoomlion’s footprint in the European aerial work platform market.
Covering an expansive area of approximately 250 mu (41.18 acres), the factory will be developed in partnership with CTP Group. The facility will incorporate cutting-edge intelligent, digital, and environmentally friendly production technologies to manufacture high-performance, high-quality, and low-carbon aerial work platforms. By leveraging advanced manufacturing techniques, the plant aims to effectively meet the demands of both local and European markets.
Upon completion, the project is expected to generate 800 new jobs, fostering regional economic growth and employment. Zoomlion also plans to collaborate with local supply chain partners to create a robust industrial ecosystem, thereby enhancing synergy with local businesses and contributing to Hungary's economic and social development.
Zoomlion has been actively pursuing its global business strategy, expanding its operations with a "global village" approach and a localized operational model. The company now operates 10 overseas research and development as well as production bases and distributes its products across more than 150 countries and regions. More than half of Zoomlion’s revenue now originates from international markets.
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders who have supported this project," stated Zhan Chunxin, Chairman and General Manager of Zoomlion. "We are committed to expediting the implementation of this initiative in alignment with our investment strategy and will put the factory into operation within this year."
With this new investment, Zoomlion is poised to reinforce its leadership in the aerial work platform sector while contributing to technological innovation and industrial growth in Hungary and the broader European region.
