Dhaka, Bangladesh — March 25, 2025:

A team of Bangladeshi students has earned a place in the University Rover Challenge 2025 (URC 2025), one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions organized by The Mars Society, said a press release.

The team scored an impressive 92.53 out of 100 in the System Acceptance Review (SAR), securing their position among the top rover teams globally. Of 114 teams that initially competed, 76 teams submitted SAR packages, and Bangladeshi students advanced to the finals set for May 28–31, 2025, at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah, USA.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Bangladeshi students in the fields of space technology and robotics. Supervised by Md. Abid Hossain, Lecturer in the Department of CSE at UIU, the team will showcase their advanced Mars Rover system on an international stage.

The team expressed gratitude for the support of UIU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia and the encouragement from well-wishers. Motivated and determined, they are excited to represent Bangladesh in the competition’s challenging desert terrain.
