Canton Fair Wraps Up Americas Tour, Strengthening Trade Ties

The 137th Canton Fair concluded its Americas roadshow, strengthening trade ties with Mexico, Peru, and Brazil ahead of its April 15 opening in Guangzhou, China.

Guangzhou, China — March 19, 2025:

The 137th Canton Fair, set to open on April 15 in Guangzhou, concluded a successful Americas roadshow, strengthening trade relations with Mexico, Peru, and Brazil. A vital gateway to China’s market, the Canton Fair continues to facilitate international business cooperation and economic growth.

During the roadshow, promotional events were held in Mexico City, Lima, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, attracting hundreds of business leaders. In Mexico, Zhu Jian, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, emphasized the fair’s role in fostering China-Mexico trade. The working group also engaged with Coppel Group to explore future collaborations.

In Peru, over 100 industry professionals attended the event in Lima, where Chinese Ambassador Song Yang highlighted the fair as a key hub for global trade. Jose Tam, President of the Peruvian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, encouraged local entrepreneurs to use the fair to explore China’s market and build direct business relationships.

Brazil saw two major promotional conferences in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, drawing approximately 300 participants. Zhang Sihong, Deputy Director of China Foreign Trade Centre, reaffirmed the Canton Fair’s importance in boosting China-Brazil trade. Tian Yuzhen, Deputy Consul General of China’s Consulate in São Paulo, noted the strong economic synergy between the two nations, calling on Brazilian businesses to deepen their engagement with China.

With an exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters and over 30,000 exhibitors, the 137th Canton Fair promises a dynamic platform for global trade. Businesses worldwide are invited to participate and capitalize on new economic opportunities.
