Shanghai, China — March 3, 2025:
A Shanghai hospital has introduced China’s first artificial intelligence cardiologist, designed to assist doctors in meeting the country’s growing demand for cardiac care, reads a SCMP report.
CardioMind, developed by the Fudan University-affiliated Zhongshan Hospital and the Shanghai Academy of Artificial Intelligence for Science, analyses patient histories and test results against decades of anonymised medical records, international research, and treatment guidelines.
The system is not intended to replace human specialists but to act as a “co-pilot,” helping overburdened doctors work more efficiently and accurately. Its developers believe the technology could ease strain on China’s healthcare system, where the prevalence of heart disease continues to rise.
