Barcelona, Spain — March 4, 2025:
Huawei has introduced the world’s first commercial triple-foldable smartphone, the HUAWEI Mate XT | ULTIMATE DESIGN, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. Featuring an advanced hinge system and an innovative 10D adjustable physical aperture camera, the Mate XT is a major attraction at the global tech event, which began on March 3.
The Mate XT’s tri-fold design incorporates Huawei’s proprietary hinge and display technology, enabling it to fold inward on one hinge and outward on the other. A large-scale 3D screen at Huawei’s booth visually demonstrates the phone’s capabilities, offering attendees an immersive experience.
Alongside the Mate XT, Huawei is showcasing its Mate 70 series, equipped with the Ultra Chroma Camera for enhanced color accuracy. The Intelligence Scenario experience zone allows visitors to explore AI-powered photography features like Multi-exposure and AI retouching, while the Mate X6 zone highlights the advanced materials used in foldable designs. A unique demonstration lets attendees slice ice with a graphene sheet, illustrating its remarkable thermal conductivity.
Huawei is also emphasizing its leadership in smart wearables. In the Cycling Experience area, visitors can compare real-time heart rate data from professional sports monitors with readings from the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5, powered by the TruSense System. The Health Glance area features the HUAWEI WATCH D2, the first medically approved wrist-based standing blood pressure monitor. Huawei remains a dominant player in the wearables market, leading global shipments in 2024.
Creativity is another key focus at MWC 2025, with the GoPaint experience area drawing attention to digital artworks created on the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2”. Featuring an OLED PaperMatte Display, the MatePad mimics a pen-on-paper experience. The HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation), with 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, enhances the precision of the GoPaint software, appealing to both professionals and hobbyists.
Huawei’s showcase at MWC 2025 highlights its commitment to innovation across smartphones, wearables, and creative tools. As the event continues, the Mate XT and other flagship products reinforce Huawei’s position at the forefront of mobile and digital technology.
