Bhubaneswar, India – March 30, 2025:
KIIT Deemed to be University continues to expand its international presence through strategic collaborations with leading global institutions. Recently, the university signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the University of Tulsa (USA), Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology (New Zealand), and the University of Washington-Bothell (USA). These partnerships aim to enhance education and research, offering students and faculty new opportunities for academic and professional growth, said a press release.
A key highlight is KIIT’s dual degree program with the University of Tulsa, allowing B.Tech students to complete two years at KIIT before transitioning to Tulsa for the remainder of their studies. This initiative enables students to earn degrees from both institutions while engaging in cross-cultural academic experiences. Additionally, 40 KIIT students from diverse disciplines, including engineering and humanities, will participate in short-term programs at Tulsa, gaining hands-on learning opportunities. The partnership also encourages faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and sabbatical opportunities.
In New Zealand, KIIT formalized its collaboration with the Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in the presence of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. This partnership is set to boost teaching and research, particularly in commerce and management, aligning with Toi Ohomai’s industry-focused and practice-based learning model.
Furthering its global impact, KIIT has launched an immersive learning initiative with the University of Washington-Bothell. An 18-member UWB delegation visited KIIT to work with management students, analyzing real-world business challenges faced by local companies and devising sustainable solutions. This model fosters global academic engagement beyond traditional exchange programs by promoting joint teaching and collaborative research.
With over 350 MoUs with top universities and companies worldwide, KIIT continues to position itself as a leader in academic excellence and cultural exchange. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, emphasized the importance of these collaborations in equipping students with a global outlook, AI-driven learning, and the skills necessary for an evolving workforce.
