Dhaka, Bangladesh — March 16, 2025:
SpaceX, the parent company of satellite internet provider Starlink, has engaged in discussions with the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) to explore the feasibility of launching Starlink services at the country’s airports, reports BSS.
CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Manjur Kabir Bhuiyan met with SpaceX Global Engagement Advisor Richard H. Griffith at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka to discuss the initiative. The talks focused on improving airport connectivity and enhancing passenger services through high-speed satellite internet, according to a CAAB press release.
The CAAB Chairman expressed appreciation for SpaceX’s interest in Bangladesh and hoped for future collaboration to bring advanced digital connectivity to the aviation sector.
Last month, Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and SpaceX founder Elon Musk held a phone discussion about the necessity of Starlink services in Bangladesh. They explored possibilities for a swift implementation, reinforcing the country’s push for digital transformation.
