Washington, D.C., USA — March 10, 2025:

President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that his administration is in active discussions with four different groups over the possible sale of the Chinese-owned social media giant TikTok. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump expressed optimism, noting that "all four are good," signaling that a deal could soon come to fruition.

The fate of TikTok has been uncertain since the U.S. government raised concerns over national security, leading to the enactment of a law on January 19 requiring ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to either divest the app or face a potential ban. To provide more time for negotiations, President Trump signed an executive order delaying the law's enforcement for 75 days.

Since then, several potential buyers have shown interest in acquiring TikTok, including Frank McCourt, former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The platform's estimated valuation is up to $50 billion, which has attracted considerable attention from both U.S. investors and international players.

Despite inquiries from the press, TikTok and ByteDance have yet to issue a public statement on the ongoing talks. As the deadline for enforcement approaches, the Trump administration and the various buyers continue to evaluate their next moves, with the app’s future now in the balance.

The next few weeks will be crucial in determining whether a sale agreement can be reached or if the U.S. government will proceed with its plan to potentially ban TikTok over security concerns.
