Tokyo, Japan – April 15, 2025:
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has unveiled two exciting new calculator models in celebration of its 60th anniversary in the calculator industry. The launch includes the MS-20UC-J commemorative series, adorned with traditional Japanese patterns, and the Comfy JT-200T, a modern, eco-conscious model designed to meet the needs of today’s users while reflecting the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation.
Since the introduction of its first electronic desktop calculator, the Casio 001, in 1965, Casio has remained at the forefront of technological advancements in the calculator market. The MS-20UC-J series showcases three unique designs, each incorporating Japanese motifs that have been considered symbols of good fortune in Japan for centuries. The designs include Asanoha Red, Seigaiha Blue, and Takekago White, each representing traditional patterns with cultural significance. These calculators are not only functional but are also a tribute to Casio's roots in Japan.
Alongside the MS-20UC-J series, Casio is introducing the Comfy JT-200T, an eco-friendly calculator built with sustainability in mind. The JT-200T features a solar-powered system and is made from materials resistant to visible scratches, ensuring durability over the long term. Unlike the limited-edition MS-20UC-J series, the JT-200T will be available for purchase on an ongoing basis, appealing to users who value a simple, efficient, and environmentally conscious design.
"We are proud to celebrate six decades of innovation, and these new models reflect our commitment to both advancing technology and fostering sustainability," said a Casio spokesperson. "We aim to provide customers with tools that not only help in their daily tasks but also contribute to a greener future."
In line with its sustainability efforts, Casio has transitioned to paper-based packaging as of June 2023, reducing plastic usage by approximately 81%. Additionally, the company’s calculators are now available in over 100 countries, with total shipments exceeding 1.8 billion units.
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Casio 001, a special website has been launched, themed “Count on Casio calculators, now and forever.” The site will feature information about new products, company history, and upcoming initiatives aimed at providing customers with more ways to experience Casio’s cutting-edge technology.
As Casio continues to innovate, it remains dedicated to developing products that meet the evolving needs of both individual users and businesses worldwide, reaffirming its place as a global leader in technology.
