CTL Corporation has acquired 3R Technology, expanding its IT asset disposition (ITAD) services and reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, secure data destruction, and environmentally responsible recycling solutions.
Beaverton, Oregon, USA — April 7, 2025:
CTL Corporation, a global leader in cloud computing for education and enterprise, on Monday announced its acquisition of 3R Technology, a leading IT asset disposition (ITAD) provider based in Kent, Washington. The acquisition will immediately enhance CTL’s comprehensive technology lifecycle services and bolster its commitment to sustainability as a certified B Corporation.
As part of the deal, CTL will assume full ownership of 3R Technology, including its employees, facilities, and industry certifications such as R2v3 recycling and NAID AAA data destruction. 3R Technology is recognized as one of the largest and most innovative ITAD providers in the Pacific Northwest.
“This acquisition significantly strengthens our ability to provide secure, environmentally responsible IT asset management services to both educational institutions and businesses nationwide,” said Jason Mendenhall, CEO of CTL. “Now, our customers can trade in aging devices for credit toward new technology, promoting a circular economy and helping organizations mitigate the financial pressures of rising technology costs.”
Glen Gaidos, CEO and Founder of 3R Technology, expressed excitement over the new opportunities: “Joining CTL enables us to broaden our reach and offer enhanced ITAD solutions, particularly to the education sector. With CTL’s resources, we can now serve a larger customer base with even more innovative, cost-effective recycling and data destruction services.”
The acquisition aligns with CTL’s ongoing mission to drive sustainability and create a comprehensive tech lifecycle approach that reduces electronic waste while ensuring data security compliance. The global ITAD market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 8.5%, reaching $32 billion by 2032, driven by increasing demands for secure data destruction and eco-friendly recycling practices.
Pooneet Goel, Partner at Columbia River Partners (CRP) and CTL Board Member, noted, “We’re thrilled to support CTL’s strategic growth and this acquisition. It offers a unique opportunity to deliver significant value to both CTL and 3R Technology customers while driving the circular economy.”
CTL’s commitment to offering an integrated solution for technology lifecycle management is more important than ever as organizations look for ways to reduce costs and stay compliant with industry regulations. “We’re not just selling new technology; we’re helping our customers responsibly manage the entire lifecycle of their IT assets,” Mendenhall added.
For now, customers are encouraged to continue working with their current account managers at CTL and 3R Technology as the integration process unfolds.
