OLATHE, Kansas, USA — April 30, 2025:

Garmin has officially launched Garmin Pilot Web, a feature-rich, browser-based flight planning platform built to complement the Garmin Pilot mobile app. Designed for both casual and professional aviators, Garmin Pilot Web delivers an intuitive online experience with access to detailed mapping, weather overlays, airport data, and more. This launch extends Garmin’s aviation ecosystem to desktop users while ensuring a seamless connection with the mobile experience.

The platform is available free of charge to all pilots and offers an interactive Map tab with a wide selection of visuals, including satellite imagery, VFR sectionals, IFR high and low charts, topographic layers, and street views. Pilots can toggle essential overlays such as radar, AIRMETs, SIGMETs, TFRs, temperature layers, fuel prices, and Winds Aloft to access dynamic, real-time data that enhances preflight planning accuracy.

Garmin Vice President of Aviation Sales, Marketing, Programs & Support, Carl Wolf, expressed excitement about expanding the reach of Garmin Pilot. He noted that the web platform brings the trusted maps and weather features of the mobile app to a wider audience. Encouraging pilots to try the tool, he emphasized its ability to simplify workflows and improve planning efficiency.

The route planning feature allows pilots to enter their route, aircraft speed, fuel burn, and cruising altitude to generate key flight metrics such as distance, fuel required, estimated time enroute, and estimated arrival time. The system also enables visual comparisons of performance across multiple altitudes. Airport-specific information includes not only runway data and terminal charts, but also aviation-focused weather forecasts and Garmin SafeTaxi diagrams for ground movement.

Pilots using the Garmin Pilot mobile app in North America gain access to additional web features, including the ability to save and file flight plans, retrieve previously cleared routes, and access comprehensive weather briefings. They can also view flight details like payload capacity and fuel load, while using route visualization tools to overlay departure, arrival, or approach procedures on the map for better situational awareness.

Aircraft data can be managed through the Aircraft tab, which allows users to add, edit, and sync performance profiles across devices. Aircraft can be created from scratch or chosen from existing templates, making the process efficient and flexible. Additionally, Garmin Pilot Web supports live internet traffic data, providing information such as aircraft type, flight path, and callsign when available.

To begin using Garmin Pilot Web, pilots can visit pilotweb.garmin.com. For access to the full suite of features, users are encouraged to subscribe through garmin.com/garminpilot, where several plan options are available. At launch, full feature support is limited to North America, but Garmin has confirmed plans to expand into additional regions in the future.

With the introduction of Garmin Pilot Web, Garmin continues to drive innovation in aviation technology. The company’s portfolio, which includes award-winning systems like Garmin Autoland—the world’s first certified autonomous landing system—has redefined aviation safety and convenience for pilots and aircraft operators around the globe.
