El Segundo, California, USA — April 7, 2025:
Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing company, has successfully completed the critical design review (CDR) for the Fire-control On Orbit-support-to-the-war Fighter (FOO Fighter) program in just 10 months after receiving authorization to proceed. This rapid progress highlights the efficiency and determination of the Millennium team as they continue to deliver cutting-edge satellite solutions for national security missions.
Doug Hulse, portfolio lead at Millennium Space Systems, commented on the achievement: "Meeting rapid timelines is essential to ensuring we deliver mission capabilities when needed. Completing the FOO Fighter CDR in just 10 months demonstrates the efficiency and focus of our team. Our primary goal is always to provide the warfighter with the tools they need, and this success underscores our commitment to delivering mission requirements on time."
The FOO Fighter program will showcase advanced missile defense capabilities by integrating fire control-quality sensors into a prototype satellite constellation. Tony Gingiss, CEO of Millennium Space Systems, expressed enthusiasm for the project’s progress, stating, "We are thrilled to work with the Space Development Agency to deliver the FOO Fighter Program and help usher in a new era of industry collaboration. This partnership with L3 Technologies demonstrates the extraordinary potential of combining industry leaders to push the limits of what's possible."
The completion of the CDR marks a key milestone for the FOO Fighter program, transitioning it to the production phase. This phase will involve the delivery of a constellation of eight satellites, along with a supporting ground system, set to launch in 2026. Once in orbit, Millennium Space Systems will assume responsibility for mission operations.
As a leader in small satellite technology, Millennium Space Systems continues to deliver high-performance solutions for National Security Space. With a foundation in 2001, the company’s active production lines and 80% vertical integration enable the rapid deployment of small satellites across various missions and orbits, including Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Orbit (GEO).
