Miami, USA — April 15, 2025:

The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) officially launched its refreshed global tourism brand, “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder,” at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025, marking the brand’s first-ever appearance at the world’s largest annual cruise industry event in Miami.

With the theme “Share, Discover, Engage, Enjoy,” Taiwan is actively promoting itself as a premium cruise destination, emphasizing its natural beauty, cultural richness, advanced infrastructure, and commitment to sustainability. The rebranding aims to entice more international cruise operators to include Taiwan in their itineraries while enhancing Taiwan's image as a modern, green, and culturally immersive destination.

This year’s Taiwan Pavilion featured interactive exhibits, engaging video displays, cultural showcases, and expert-led presentations designed to immerse visitors in Taiwan’s diverse offerings. These exhibits reflected Taiwan’s evolving approach to tourism, blending innovation and environmental responsibility with authentic experiences.

“Under our newly refreshed brand, Taiwan – Waves of Wonder, we are actively promoting Taiwan as a destination of scenic beauty, rich culture, and sustainable development,” said Ben Yi-Chen Huang, Director of the International Affairs Division at TTA. “Cruise passengers can easily access cities and major attractions upon arrival, exploring Taiwan’s vibrant culinary scene, lush landscapes, and historical heritage.”

Taiwan is also aligning with post-pandemic travel trends by promoting low-carbon tourism. This includes developing eco-friendly destinations and applying green port concepts to make cruise travel more sustainable.

In recent years, Taiwan International Ports Corporation has significantly upgraded infrastructure at key ports including Keelung and Kaohsiung, enhancing capacity to receive larger vessels and improve services. Additionally, upgraded e-gate clearance systems will streamline passenger processing for a more seamless cruise travel experience.

“Taiwan is blessed with stunning natural scenery, vibrant festivals, rich traditions, and warm hospitality,” said Charles Chih-Yu Chou, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami. “Its strategic location makes it a must-visit stop on Asian cruise itineraries. We warmly welcome global travelers to discover Taiwan’s charm through cruise experiences.”

Taiwan’s cruise strategy is centered on attracting multi-port and fly-cruise travelers from nearby markets such as Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, while also expanding into long-haul markets like the United States, Europe, and Oceania.

With its central location in Asia and growing emphasis on sustainable travel, Taiwan is positioning itself as a key emerging player in the Asian cruise tourism sector.

As Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 celebrates its 40th anniversary, Taiwan’s debut marks a significant step in its international tourism outreach, reinforcing its global vision and inviting travelers to experience the “Waves of Wonder” that define Taiwan’s evolving tourism landscape.
