LOS ANGELES, USA – April 29, 2025:
TECO Electric & Machinery has made a powerful debut at the ACT Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, unveiling a suite of innovative electrification and charging technologies designed to advance the future of commercial electric mobility. Held in California, the world’s premier green transportation showcase opened on April 28, drawing global industry leaders.
TECO is participating alongside its U.S.-based subsidiaries—TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company, NexE (a charging solution sales company), and the newly acquired EVK Motor. The group is highlighting cutting-edge electric drive axle systems for EVs and high-power DC fast charging stations that cater to both public and commercial applications.
Chairman Morris Li underscored TECO’s strategic commitment to electric mobility. “EV powertrain systems and charging infrastructure are our key priorities,” he said, noting that the technologies on display reflect a fusion of manufacturing and engineering strengths from Taiwan and the United States.
A key highlight is the debut of EVK Motor’s third-generation hairpin motor, developed for electric axles in medium and large vehicles such as electric buses and trucks. The compact unit, weighing under 55 kg with its oil pump and radiator, delivers power outputs of 50–300 kW and torque ranging from 150–550 Nm. With a peak efficiency of 97.8%, it helps manufacturers optimize space, weight, and performance.
TECO-Westinghouse and NexE also presented their 30kW and 60kW DC fast chargers, along with PowerCube—an EV charger portable power distribution system. These systems support smart charging, renewable energy integration, and significantly reduce EV charging time. A full charging solution range from 30kW to 480kW is already in production, with assembly lines operational at TECO-Westinghouse’s Texas facility.
TECO's global strategy spans Taiwan, North America, India, Europe, and China. In Taiwan, it powers 80% of the country's electric bus systems, including the first locally developed hydrogen electric bus featuring a 235kW SiC direct-drive motor with an efficiency of 22 km/kg of hydrogen—exceeding the global average.
In India, TECO delivered prototype powertrains in Q1, with mass production set for Q3. In North America, the company is focusing on school buses and commercial trucks, aiming to capitalize on a multi-billion-dollar EV market.
TECO’s presence at ACT Expo 2025 reinforces its role as a leading player in green transportation, offering scalable, smart electrification solutions for a rapidly evolving mobility landscape.
